Testimonials

"In my recent visit to our nation’s capital, I had the privilege of touring some of the top private schools in our country, including the host of President Obama’s two children, Sidwell Friends School.  Sidwell Friends is a Quaker school committed to the highest ideals of education and the school of choice for the children of congressmen, ambassadors, and the elite of Washington DC.

What I expected to find when I toured the school was intense academic rigor in the form of textbook analysis and emphasis on testing being driven by hard-nosed, discipline heavy teachers.  After all, students graduating from this school continue on at a 100% acceptance rate to Ivy League schools such as Harvard, Princeton, Yale and so on.

What I actually found was a setting quite different from my expectations and yet at the same time very familiar.

When I saw a history class baking bread and growing and herb garden to enhance their medieval studies unit, I thought, that’s what Brighton Academy does.

When I saw students hovering over independent, hands-on science projects, I thought, that’s what Brighton does.

When I saw the teachers speak with their students on a personal level with care and concern for the individual, and the students’ eyes sparkle with a curiosity and love for learning, I thought, I’ve seen that same look at Brighton.

If the nation’s top schools, which are entrusted with the education of the Washington elite and charge upwards of $30,000 yearly tuition, are choosing hands-on educational practice versus textbook and test heavy curriculum and hiring teachers who nurture the heart while fostering a genuine love for learning, then little Brighton Academy of Grants Pass, OR, which holds these same values, must be doing something right."

“My wife and I have been thrilled with the education our children have received at Brighton Academy in Grants Pass.  The staff has built a strong and rigorous academic program on the rock-solid foundation of Christian family. All of our kids have not just learned reading, spelling, math and history at Brighton; they have gained problem-solving, critical thinking and essential leadership skills.  Brighton Academy does not just educate kids academically; it prepares 21st Century leaders. I heartily endorse Brighton Academy and feel honored and privileged to be a part of the Brighton family.”

“My daughter had previously attended a private school in which she was struggling. That school did not have the resources available to help. I brought her to Brighton with many concerns and a below average grade level, not to mention her self esteem was very low. From the beginning Brighton made her feel comfortable and took her under their wing. They believed in her. Her confidence grew within no time as did her love for school. They stayed consistent with her in getting her the help she needed and made it their goal to see her strive. She has blossomed so much in the 2 years she has been at Brighton and now tests at level. I am grateful to the staff at Brighton and what they have done for my little girl. Thank you for loving the job you do and doing it well!”

“I love Brighton Academy and I have learned so much. Everyone is so nice and wants to be everyone’s friend, not just one person’s. The science room is so cool. There are all of these animals and we get to take care of them. In art I have learned how to draw so much. Also, the class sizes are small which is nice.”

“I enjoy Brighton Academy because they have an outstanding academic program. The thing I like most is the teachers, especially Mrs. Reppert. She is a wonderful teacher. When I first started going here, it didn’t take me long to make friends with everyone. My favorite classes are history and cooking!! But the best part is whether you are visiting or a student, you are treated with respect."

"Our first son attended kindergarten in public school and before the year was over it was very apparent that it could not meet our expectations of how a child should be taught. So we began the search for something better; smaller class sizes, more one-on-one, and more hands-on-learning, all of which we found at Brighton Academy.

When he started, we soon learned that for a 1st grader was no where near the reading level of his classmates. Without delay or hesitation the teachers at Brighton began working with him, using every option available to help him. It took a little while for him to catch on because he doesn't like to do things that don’t come easy to him. Before long he not only caught up but was reading with the top half of the class and was enjoying it! We can not say enough wonderful things about our school and we would highly recommend it to anyone.

Brighton Academy has been the best move we could have made for our children."

"I couldn't have asked for a better middle school experience for my son. Having the boys and girls separated for core classes has been amazing. The boys are able to concentrate on their academics and are more expressive in class - I love the split! Brighton has great teachers, a great group of classmates, great energy on campus, and great leadership. What a perfect, safe, caring place for our boys to become young men! Thank You Brighton Academy!"

"Brighton Academy has been a Godsend for my grandson.

He came from another state to live with me over a year ago and attended the local public school that first year. For some unexplained reason, he became a "Bully Magnet" at that school. One day we were driving up 7th street and I happened to notice the Brighton Academy marquee with the proclamation that "Bullies are not tolerated at Brighton Academy",and set about to make an appointment to check things out. He spent one day 'testing' the environment at Brighton and loved it.

We were fortunate enough that there was one spot left. I have never seen him happier in school. The teachers are caring individuals who stay on top of their classes. The atmosphere at Brighton is amazingly happy. I cannot imagine a better environment for students to relax and learn."
